Usage Tracking

Real-time Monitoring

Your dashboard shows current month usage for:
  • Tile Serves: Map tile requests from your applications
  • Feature Calls: Queries to chart features and metadata
  • Bandwidth: Data transfer (included in all plans)
  • Storage: Cached data (included in all plans)

Usage Categories

Tile Serves

  • Individual map tile requests (256x256 pixels)
  • Counted when tiles are served to end users
  • Cached tiles don’t count against your quota
  • Both test and live environment usage counts

Feature Calls

  • Chart feature queries and metadata requests
  • Search operations and spatial queries
  • Bulk data exports and downloads
  • API calls to the /features and /query endpoints

Overage Handling

Soft Limits (Warning Phase)

  • 75% Usage: Email notification sent
  • 90% Usage: Dashboard warnings appear
  • 95% Usage: Final warning notification

Hard Limits (Quota Exceeded)

  • 100% Usage: API requests return 429 (Rate Limited)
  • Service Continues: No service interruption for existing integrations
  • Automatic Reset: Quota resets on your billing cycle date

Payment Management

Adding Payment Methods

  1. Go to DashboardBilling
  2. Click “Add Payment Method”
  3. Enter card details securely via Stripe
  4. Set as default if desired

Supported Payment Methods

  • Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express
  • Debit Cards: Most major debit cards accepted
  • Digital Wallets: Apple Pay, Google Pay (where available)
  • Bank Transfers: Enterprise plans only

Payment Security

  • PCI Compliance: All payments processed securely via Stripe
  • No Storage: CHRT never stores your payment details
  • Encryption: All transactions encrypted in transit
  • Fraud Protection: Advanced fraud detection and prevention

Billing Cycle

Monthly Billing

  • Billing Date: Subscription starts on signup date
  • Usage Reset: Quotas reset on your billing date
  • Prorated Charges: Upgrades/downgrades prorated automatically
  • Invoice Delivery: Sent via email within 24 hours

Annual Billing

  • Discount: 20% off compared to monthly billing
  • Payment: Charged annually on signup anniversary
  • Usage: Same monthly quotas, reset each month
  • Flexibility: Can switch to monthly at renewal

Managing Your Subscription

Upgrading Your Plan

  1. Go to BillingChange Plan
  2. Select your new plan
  3. Review changes and pricing
  4. Confirm upgrade
Changes take effect immediately with prorated billing.

Downgrading Your Plan

  1. Go to BillingChange Plan
  2. Select lower tier plan
  3. Review quota changes
  4. Confirm downgrade
Downgrades take effect at your next billing cycle. If current usage exceeds new plan limits, you may experience service restrictions.

Cancelling Your Subscription

  1. Go to BillingCancel Subscription
  2. Select cancellation reason (optional)
  3. Confirm cancellation
  • Immediate Effect: Service downgrades to Free plan
  • Data Retention: All data preserved for 90 days
  • Reactivation: Can resubscribe anytime within 90 days

Invoice and Receipt Management

Accessing Invoices

  • Dashboard: View recent invoices in billing section
  • Email: Automatic delivery to billing contact
  • Customer Portal: Access via “Manage Billing” button
  • Download: PDF invoices available for download

Invoice Details Include

  • Usage Summary: Breakdown by service type
  • Plan Details: Current subscription information
  • Payment Method: Last 4 digits of payment card
  • Tax Information: Applicable taxes and VAT
  • Billing Address: Company and contact information
